HOW IT WORKS

Two ways in.
One company record out.

Start with the fact you already have: a legal company name, or a VAT number, EIN, or supported tax ID. VATFind searches Global Database and returns the available entity context.

PATH 01

I know the company name.

Choose the registration country and enter the legal name. Compare candidate entities, then review the VAT or tax ID available in the selected company record.

PATH 02

I already have the number.

Choose the country and enter the VAT number, EIN, or supported tax ID. Review which Global Database company record is linked to it.

BEHIND THE SEARCH

What happens after you press search.

VATFind keeps the public interface simple, while the request, company match, and evidence context stay separate.

01

Input is normalised

Country, task, company name, number, and optional state or province are prepared for the search.

02

Global Database is searched

The API key remains on the server. VATFind requests matching company records through Global Database.

03

The entity is matched

You compare legal name, registration number, address, identifiers, and company status when supplied.

04

The result is labelled

Source and retrieval time are shown, while missing fields and validation limits remain explicit.

RESULT LANGUAGE

What the result means—and does not mean.

Number confirmedGlobal Database returned a company record linked to the VAT number, EIN, or supported tax ID.A tax authority or the IRS confirmed current registration status.

SOURCE & FRESHNESS

Company data through Global Database.

VATFind uses the Global Database KYB API for company lookup. The result shows the source information supplied by the API and the time VATFind retrieved the record. Available fields and source detail vary by country and company.

Company record

Legal name, identifiers, registration details, address, and source-reported company status when available.

Not an authority response

No live VIES, HMRC, national tax-authority, or IRS validation is performed in the current VATFind lookup.

No-match handling

An empty result is reported as not confirmed. VATFind does not convert absence into an invalid claim.

A PRACTICAL EVIDENCE RULE

Keep evidence for the question you actually asked.

Use the VATFind record for company discovery and identifier matching. When current tax-registration status determines a tax or compliance decision, use the relevant official service and retain that separate result and date.
