A number check confirms a match against a Global Database company record. It does not perform live tax-authority or IRS validation.

WHEN TO USE IT

Fill a missing identifier without guessing which legal entity sits behind a trading name.

Use the lookup as an entity-identification step. Keep the input, returned company details, source, and retrieval time in context.

THE WORKFLOW

Four steps. One clear result boundary.

How VATFind works
01

Choose the registration country

Use the country where the legal entity is registered, not simply where its website or brand operates.

02

Enter the legal company name

Use the name shown on a contract, invoice, or registry document. Include the legal suffix when you know it.

03

Compare the candidate companies

Match the registration number, address, region, and status before opening the company record.

04

Review the available tax ID

Use the VAT or tax ID only when the selected company record and your business document refer to the same entity.

WHAT YOU CAN REVIEW

The record, not just the number.

Fields vary by country and company. VATFind labels absent information instead of inventing a result.

01Legal company name
The registered entity returned by the source.
02VAT or tax ID
Displayed when the company record supplies one.
03Registration number
A separate company identifier used to distinguish legal entities.
04Address and region
Useful context when several companies have similar names.
05Source and retrieval time
Where the record came from and when VATFind obtained it.

READ THE RESULT CORRECTLY

Finding a number is not the same as validating it.

VATFind can surface a source-reported identifier from a company record. If your decision depends on current VAT-registration status, make a separate check with the relevant tax authority. For example, HMRC’s UK service requires the VAT number and cannot search by company name.
