Use one monitoring page and one workspace. Company-change monitoring is available in self-service; authority-backed VAT-status monitoring requires confirmed country coverage. Their evidence and alerts remain separate.
Recheck the company-record association and selected fields behind the submitted identifier. Use the events for supplier review, KYB refresh, master-data maintenance and agent re-grounding.
For supported authority sources, retain the confirmed registration state and distinguish a valid-to-invalid transition from a source outage or company-record change.
Enter a VAT number—or a US EIN—review the company-record association, choose the fields and set a daily, weekly or monthly target cadence. Nothing starts until you explicitly confirm activation.
Each completed baseline, scheduled recheck or manual recheck uses one included check.
4. Review the event
See previous and current values, source health and delivery state before deciding what the change means.
VAT-STATUS MONITORING · COVERAGE BY REQUEST
Authority coverage comes before activation.
VAT-status monitoring is not part of the current self-service monitor contract. It requires a supported country source and a separately confirmed implementation. VATFind will not imply live VAT-status coverage where that source is absent.
The check did not complete. Keep the previous confirmed status and retry; never label the VAT number invalid.
Company changesActive → inactiveCompany-status alert
The source-reported legal-company status changed. This does not by itself determine VAT-registration status.
Company changesName or address changedCompany-record alert
Review the previous and current values and decide whether the change affects the onboarding or finance workflow.
SAFE STATUS TRANSITIONS
A failed source check must never become an invalid VAT alert.
Keep the last confirmed status, record the unavailable attempt separately and retry according to policy. Only a completed, supported authority response can create a VAT valid-to-invalid event.
Confirmed invalid
The authority route completed and reported an invalid registration after a prior confirmed valid state.
Source unavailable
The authority or upstream service did not complete the check. Keep the previous status and emit an operational alert.
Company changed
A company-record field changed. Assess it independently from the VAT-registration status.
Downstream delivery
Send the monitor type, event type, previous value, current value, source and observed time.
MONITORING QUESTIONS
Understand monitoring before you activate it.
Company changes, VAT status, combined monitoring, source outages, alert meaning, activation and delivery.
01Is VATFind monitoring one product or two?
VATFind presents monitoring as one product category with two distinct evidence types: VAT-registration status and company-record changes. Each type has separate sources, events and meanings.
02What is available in the self-service workspace today?
The current self-service workspace, REST API and MCP tools support company-record monitoring. Authority-backed VAT-status monitoring requires separate country and source confirmation before implementation.
03Can I monitor both VAT status and company changes?
That is the intended combined workflow, but VAT-status coverage must first be confirmed for the required countries. Company-change monitoring can be activated independently in the current workspace.
04Does checking or saving a result start monitoring?
No. Looking up, opening or saving a company result does not activate monitoring. Company monitoring starts only after an authenticated user chooses the fields and cadence and confirms activation.
05What is the difference between a VAT-status alert and a company-change alert?
A VAT-status alert describes a completed authority-reported registration-state transition. A company-change alert describes a change in selected company-record evidence such as legal status, name, registration number or address.
06Is an authority outage the same as an invalid VAT number?
No. An unavailable authority or upstream source is an operational health state. Keep the previous confirmed VAT status and retry; never convert an outage into an invalid alert.
ONE PLACE TO START
Choose the evidence, then activate the right workflow.
Saving or viewing a company result never starts monitoring automatically.
